BEAUTY | A WINTER ROUTINE

I haven't done one of my makeup routines since summer, so I thought it was about time that I finally showed you my updated makeup routine. In the wintertime my skin usually starts acting up. I start to become a ghost. I get pimples from the lack of sunlight so I would say that I need a bit more coverage. However, I am too lazy to use an actual full coverage foundation, so I usually go for the easier options instead. If you want to see all the things that I use on my face then keep on reading!

So whenever I decide that I want to look somewhat decent when I go out, this is what I use on my face. Like I said before, I get quite pimple-y in the winter months and I think it's a combination of me not seeing enough sunlight and my bad winter eating habits. So after I have done my complete skincare routine - if you would like to see that, just let me know and I'll make a post about that too! - I usually go for my primer.

The primer I use is the Maxfactor Facefinity All Day Flaweless Primer. I started using this primer just a bit after my last beauty routine and I absolutely love to use this primer, as I find that it really helps control pimples, which may sound a bit strange.

After I put my primer on, I usually put my the base on. Something I always do is put on my concealer before my foundation. I don't really want to wear too much foundation or bb cream, so I find that this is the best solution to my problem. I use my NARS creamy concealer in Light Vanilla under my eyes. This creamy concealer shade is a tad too light for me, so I usually use it as a kind of highlighting concealer. I usually blend that in with my fingers. When my I have put on my concealer, I usually head in with the BB Cream. I use all kinds of BB creams throughout the year, but the one that has been perfect to match my winter skin right now is the Bobbi Brown BB cream with SPF 35 in the shade Fair. I put a little dot on my hand and blend it onto my face with the Zoeva Silk Finish brush, which I mentioned in my latest five favourites post.

When I put that base on I usually sit in front of the mirror for a minute thinking about how tired I am and how I would rather be in bed instead. So when I have had my first moany thought of the morning, I usually put on some music to cheer myself up a bit. So then I go on to my bronzer. I feel like I really need some bronzer to warm up my deadly-looking face a bit. I am currently using the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour in 020. This powder is a bit to dark to use all over my pale winter skin right now, so I tend to use it as a countouring shade, and I usually just swirl it around my face a little bit to warm up my skin. I apply this with the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Countour brush, which comes in the Real Techniques Duo Fibre set.

After slapping that contour on, I usually move on to highlighter. I haven't been doing this since I came back after my holiday in Summer. I love how it gives me a healthy glow, since I just don't have that, especially in winter. Currently I am using the The Balm Mary Lou Manizer luminizer with the Real Techniques Setting brush.

So when I did all of that to my face, I usually move on to my eyebrows. I am currently using the Soap & Glory 2-in-1 brow Archery in Brown and Out which I got in London. This magical stick is my new favourite eyebrow product ever! It's so easy to use! Then I move onto eyeliner, and I am currently using the Collection Faststroke black liquid eyeliner and then I put on some mascara. The mascara I am currently using is the Catrice Glam & Doll volume mascara in black, which I think is only available in some European countries such as The Netherlands and Germany.

That's it. That's all the makeup I put on my face whenever I feel like I need to look like a decent human being. I am always looking to use new makeup products, so if there's something in your routine that you really like, like a bb cream or something, let me know!
